How to reach Shimla:
By Air: The city is connected from all the major cities around. Shimla(Jabbarhatti) Airport, is in the city itself. The other nearby airports are Chandigarh and New Delhi.
By Train: The world heritage narrow gauge railways connect Shimla to Kalka. This toy train route is quite popular and Kalka can be reached from fast trains like Shatabdi Express.
By Road: Shimla is approximately 361 km from New Delhi and 120 km from Chandigarh. One can easily reach from buses , taxi or personal car.
Day 1: Shimla
The places to visit in Shimla are given as:
- Summer Hill: It is one of the best places to visit inShimla.
At a height of 1286 meter above sea level, Summer Hill offers spectacular views of the entire valley.
This hill is enriched by rich greenery that offers breathtaking views from the top.
The hill is a part of a cluster of seven hills.
2.The Indian Institute of Advanced Study: It is situated in the famous Viceregal Lodge. Viceregal Lodge is also called Rashtrapati Niwas.
The building was constructed around 1880 and a visit into the institute is actually a walk through the modern Indian history.
IIAS is primarily the summer retreat of Indian President.
- The Ridge and Mall Road: This place is popularly known as the Scandal Point and it looks amazing after sunset .
It is located at the center of the town which offers marvellous view of sunset and sunrise.
Apart beautiful mountains, there is a famous church, Also, you will have an excellent view of the Mall road located beneath the Ridge.
You can checkout local shops at mall road for handmade crafts and gifts.
Day 2 : Shimla
- Jakhu Temple: It is the highest peak in the entire hill station offers scenic view of the city.
The Jakhoo Hill is 8000 feet high and it is a famous tourist attraction that is visited by nature lovers and pilgrims as well.
There is an ancient Jakhoo Temple, which has a large statue of Hanuman.
- Annandale: This place was known for a number of adventure sports..
Now, this place is converted into a small golf course which also serves as a helipad.
Day 3 Kufri
Kufri is a famous hill station just 16 kms from Shimla and 7 kms from Mashobra.
The Himalayan Nature Park:
The site is a natural habitat of rich flora and fauna with about 140 species.
The Great Himalayan National park was established in the year 1984.
It has also been declared as the world heritage site by the UNESCO in the year 2014.
The site also has a mini zoo amidst dense forests, housing rare breeds of wild animals and pheasants of the Himalayan terrain.
The attractions of the zoo include Tibetan Wolf, Brown Bear, Musk Deer and Barking Deer.
Visitors can also see Snow Leopard, Yak, Ghoral, Samber, Himalayan Thar and Black Bear in the zoo.
Along with the zoo and nature park, tourists can also engage in horse riding.
Indira Tourist Park:
It is located near the famous Himalayan Nature Park and it offers panoramic views of the adjoining landscapes.
For refreshment and rejuvenation, the park includes a beer bar and an ice-cream parlour in the Lalit Cafe that is under the control of HPTDC (Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation).
So, visitors may enjoy lip smacking snacks and beverages here.

Day 4 Chail
Kali Ka Tibba:
Located at the top of the hill in Chail the famous tourist place of Himachal, Kali ka Tibba is a temple dedicated to goddess Kali.
It is located at the top of the mountain Blossom.
Maharaja’s Palace chail:
Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh when he was expelled from Shimla by Lord Kitchener. He constructed this Palace in 1891 as his Summer Capital for the warm
This is a beautiful Palace in lap of lush green mountains which adds beauty to this palace.
